Anamallais Engineering Private Limited having its head office at Pollachi is a small scale industry engaged in the construction of Buses, Lorries, Car Carriers, Delivery / Ambulance Van bodies etc., it was promoted by a well known Industrialist Padma Bhushan, Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam B.Sc.,FIE., (Chairman, Sakthi – ABT Group Companies).
We are in this field for more than four decades. Before that our parent organization Anamallais Bus Transports (A.B.T.) Private Limited started body building work in the year 1931 in a small way and then the same body building activities were extended to our sister concerns ABT Parcel Service and N.I.A. (Transports). After taking over the body building activities by us in year 1963, our services were slowly extended to the other private bus operators and to the various Government undertakings viz., Thiruvalluvar Transport Corporation, Govt. of Tamilnadu, Tamilnadu Tourism Development Corporation, Police Department, Govt. Of Kerala, Pondichery Tourism and Transport Development Corporation, Govt. of Pondichery, ISRO-Sriharikota, Govt. of India, Neyveli Lignite Corporation etc.,
We built quality bodies to cater the needs of the customers and to their satisfaction.
Apart from domestic customers, we are build bus bodies to TATA Motors and Ashok Leyland and through them more than 5000 buses with our bodies were exported to various foreign countries and our vehicles are Plying in Russia, Abu Dhabi, Angola, Bangladesh, Chile, Dominican Republic, Dubai, Ghana, Kuwait, Nigeria, Yemen, Madagascar, Oman, Sri Lanka, South Africa, New Zealand and so on.
We also undertake repair jobs of old vehicles and accident repair jobs. We have better after sales and service, minor jobs during the period of warranty, and general checkup are executed at the customer place only.
The lovely town of Pollachi is located 40 km from Coimbatore city in Tamil Nadu. It is an agricultural town, with coconut farms, fields and plantations making the town look picturesque. It also boasts of one of the biggest markets in the country. The town apparently also has the largest jaggery market in Asia!
Located close to the Western Ghats, Pollachi enjoys sublime climate all through the year and attracts tourists to enjoy the beauty surrounding the town. The nearest entry point to the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and Park, the town also boasts of many other scenic getaways and picnic spots.
Economy : The economy of the town is predominantly dependent on agriculture. Coconut, jaggery, vegetables and cattle contribute greatly to the agricultural output. Pollachi is also a popular movie shooting location for the Tamil film industry; it is preferred for outdoor shooting because of its scenic landscape. Pollachi is also called 'Mini Kodambakkam' because of frequent movie shootings.
Roadways : Pollachi is linked by National Highway 209, State Highway 19, SH 78 and SH 78A. The central bus stand caters for bus transport which is used by Government-run TNSTC and private operators. A new bus stand has been constructed opposite the old bus stand replacing the later.
Railway : Pollachi Railway Junction connects with Palakkad Junction to the west, Podanur and Coimbatore Junctions to the north and Dindigul Junction to the east. Gauge conversion was effected recently, starting its service from January 9, 2015 for the Pollachi Jn - Dindigul Jn section. The Pollachi section was added to the Palakkad Railway Division from 2007. Palani to Pollachi train services began from January 2015.
Topslip : Located in the scenic Anamalai hills at an elevation of 800 ft, Topslip is one of the most popular places to visit in Pollachi. It falls as a region located within the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Park. At a short distance of 37 km from the city of Pollachi, Topslip can be easily reached by private or public transport. Among the major attractions is the Elephant Training Camp, which also requires a permit. You can explore activities like trekking, elephant safari and photography in Topslip.
Parambikulam Tiger Reserve : Located near the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary is another place to visit in Pollachi, the Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary. Spanning an area of over 285 sq.km, it is on UNESCO's tentative list for the World Heritage Site status. Though it is a part of Kerala, entry is possible only from Pollachi. The many attractions here include; staying at the tree house, guided safaris into the jungle and bamboo raft trips across the Parambikulam lake. Another noteworthy feature is the large Kannimara Thekku (teak) tree that is speculated to be the largest in Asia!
Aliyar Dam : Situated near Pollachi at the foothills of Valparai is a key place to visit, the Aliyar Dam. The picturesque destination pulls in tourists, couples and family with its many options for amusement. The dam has parks, aquarium and even boating facilities. Situated against the backdrop of hills, it is a beautiful place that you must visit.
